Golden Bear Restaurant

Stopped into this gem unexpectedly and was very glad I did! I ordered the Corn beef hash and eggs, and it was absolutely delicious. It was so yummy I forgot to take a picture. Denise was my Server and let me tell you she is a ROCKSTAR! Attended everyone with love even though it was very busy. I will definitely be coming again, and it might just have to be every Tuesday because I definitely want to be waited on by Denise!

I have been coming here for about 8 years or so. It's hands down one of my all-time FAVORITE breakfast restaurants to come to. Golden Bear and Spring Garden are tied for 1st place, in my opinion. The only downside for me is that I stay close to downtown. Golden Bear is on Starkey Road in Largo, but it's absolutely worth the commute. Aside from their incredibly amazing breakfast dishes, they do serve lunch dishes as well. Sandwiches, salads, etc. However, I always go for the pancakes, French toast, or waffles. Pancakes are my favorite!!! They're HUGE and take up almost the whole plate! I've never been disappointed with the food or service. They have always been packed when I've eaten there. The staff have always been helpful and polite. Which is extremely important to me. Also, in the service industry, it's rare that 98% of employees enjoy their job, or at least pretend they do, lol. Please give Golden Bear a try. You'll really be happy you did!

Came in today for lunch. Olivia was our server, and we were very pleased with her fast, friendly service with a smile, as were we with the great and well-priced food. My wife and i both had the Friday fish special with clam chowder. It was spot on. Great service, great food! Will be back again very soon.

Excellent breakfast! We’ve been twice now, and both times extremely good food and service. “Run the way it should be.” Eggs Benedict was really great, and hash browns were awesome. Same with the eggs and bacon breakfast. Prices were very reasonable.

We live in Lutz,Fl and spontaneously stopped for breakfast on our way home from the beach. So glad we did! The food was outstanding and the best grits I’ve ever had! Loved it!

Friendly service, delicious food and generous portions at a reasonable price. Quick service and servers were regularly checking in to see if I needed refills. Great little diner, loved the honoring of veterans. Definitely recommended!

We’re new to this area of town and we were doubtful that we’d ever find an old school breakfast diner like the one we frequented in our old neighborhood. We googled ‘breakfast diners in Seminole’ and were intrigued by the awesome reviews here… me more so by the comments on their old fashioned grits! This hole-in-the-wall diner is located in a strip mall and is very easy to overlook, if not for the completely full parking lot - a very good sign! We followed the crowd inside and have been going for breakfast ever since! They also serve lunch for people who aren’t looking for breakfast food. True to the reviews, their grits are unlike ANYTHING this Southerner has ever had! Less gritty than traditional grits, but whipped in texture and consistency, they are the best grits in the world! Melt in some butter and sprinkle with salt and you’ll be in grit heaven! There’s honey, sugar and syrup available for those who prefer their grits sweet. Our order: We always get the 2 Egg breakfast - with two eggs cooked any way and your choice of breakfast meat and one of the following three options: grits, toast or hash browns. The hash browns are old school shredded and griddled in a heaping pile, so don’t miss those, either! We always order a side of hash browns to split. Sometimes, my husband orders the pancakes - the size of basically hubcaps lol. The coffee is hot, the service is awesome and we really love sitting in Bonnie’s section. Go for the grits and fall in love with everything else like we did! The little guy who clears the tables is a sweetheart and we look forward to seeing his big smile every time we go! *Thank you also for serving and recognizing our veterans! Bring cash to avoid the new 3% surcharge they tack in to credit card payments. They offer catering as well!

Great menu selection!!! Fair pricing on all food & beverages!! Exceptional service!!! Food was brought out hot and had great flavor!! Look forward to visiting again!! Recommend for a pleasant place to eat with a down home vibe. Keep up the great work!!
